Ok, on my 07 F350 Crew Cab, the dome lights will not work. I have checked all the fueses and they all seem to be ok. The reading lights will work, but when you open the door nothing turns on. If you turn the dimmer all the way up to where the dome/bed lights should turn on nothing happens. I know the bulbs are good because I switched them out with the ones out of my 06. Not sure where to go from here. I was trying to check my all data but really can't make out the diagram. Anyone know what relay/fues I need to check for the dome lights. Also could it just be a bad dimmer switch. Thanks for the help guys.
If your '07 is wired like my '04, then the courtesy light circuit comes off of a fuse, goes through the courtesy lamp relay in the HEC (instrument cluster), then goes out to the courtesy lamps. The dash switch just signals the HEC to activate the relay. I'm not sure where the door switches fit in. They are connected to the VSM. So I figure there must be a circuit from the VSM to the HEC to tell it to turn on the lights.
It could be a bad courtesy light relay in the HEC, or it could be a bad battery saver relay. But if it were the battery saver relay, other lights off that relay, like the hood light, wouldn't work either. Those relays are built into the HEC as far as I know, so I don't know how you test them.
It COULD be a fuse to the HEC is bad. There are a number of them. Unfortunately, your '07 uses different fuse numbers, etc than mine so I can't say what all they are.
Thanks David. I just got her fixed. It was dues 35 which is the instrument cluster. I never looked at it because all I could tell wasn't working was the dome lights.
