Replaced the clutch about 20,000 miles ago. Driving home one day last week I noticed it was gettting difficult to put into second gear. The next morning as I was driving to work I noticed the same. When. I stopped to pick up a Co worker and as I went to pull away I cudnt even get it into gear. Clutch is hard to push as it was from the day I installed the new one. Pedal Dosent seem to go down as far as it used to. Is this clutch shot or cud it be my clutch master cylinder. What are the symptoms of a bad master cylinder. Any info wud be great.
if its 2nd gear and only second gear you probably got a problem in the trans. does it shift through all the other gears good? could be a bad shift fork or rail or syncro
As soon as I get back into town to get the truck I will get the fluid I'm sure there will be someone in town to help push the slave rod. Second gear is the only one I noticed. I'm not sure if it will shift through the other gears or not as I can't even get it in gear to take off. Thanks for the advice. Will keep you updated when I get it home later today
I had a customer that had a very similar problem. it turned out to be the clutch disc broke and the springs were between the diaphragm and disc not allowing the clutch to release.
so having said that what clutch was recently installed? a good one or a cheep one?
Finally got the truck home. Had to go on the road for work. So my dad went and trailered it home. He gave me a call this morning and. said the fork was shot. He ordered the part and when I come home tomorrow night im guna switch it out. Any ideas on the best and easiest way to do it. Thank all for the previous help
