Yeah bro, nice truck! Looking at it, I wouldn't part it out for mine. I want to swap front and rear axles and have a spare motor and trans but I think I'd try to fix that one.

I passed up a great deal last winter. I didn't really have a choice though because I didn't have the money but someone local was selling a sc F350 that had a 7.3 zf5 and 4wd that was hit by falling trees in a ice storm. It even had the rear ends I wanted. I could have set my body right down on that frame and took off. (more or less )

Yeah, with yours as a donor mine would make a nice 4 by conversion...

Oh yeah Ray,

A couple of days ago I had a "kid" (under 25 ) in a new "Ram" stop me while I was at the mailbox & offer me $4000 "cash right now" for "that truck there". Said he worked for a paving co & had to carry some sort of nasty peice of equipment (it was) & was tired of messing up his new truck.

Politely told him no.

It's amazing how many people, kids and adults, buy new trucks then refuse to work them at all. My bro in-law wouldn't haul appliances or anything in his. His wife used it to haul some trash to the landfill one day when he was at work and it seriously almost caused a divorce. Unbelievable! He bought a 4x4 to beat it all and he won't even drive it in the winter because he's afraid it will get dirty lol.

Why even buy a truck if your not going to use it?

man. that thing looks nice. im sorry for your loss. lol. and yeah, 4x4s are 4 wheel drive for a reason. to use it all my trucks, i have used. ALOT. in my 94, i snapped 3/4 of the leaf springs in the back, just by hauling scrap. ive had so many #'s of steel in that thing, its crazy. i miss that thing. i ended up scrapping it, so i could buy something that would actually drive over 30 mph. (my f150 had a horrific front end) i miss that thing so much. even with the m5od. hahaha.

I live in Wilmington,MA. How much would you want for the truck? Im not full of money but I can give you alot more than a junkyard will. I at least would like to take a look if you're interested in selling it.

I know what ya'll mean about dumping money into trucks. I've put at least 1500 in parts alone into my '94, but its a 2wd 6 cyl so it'll never be worth anything. Only way to make the money back is to keep driving it. Tranny was the only major thing to go and it was 250 from a JY.

Psssshhh, there aren't even speed holes in the rear wheel wells yet! haha. My rear spring hangers are rusted through where they're cupped, but haven't broken yet under heavy abuse. Sounds like the only real pain would be the oil pan.

Anyway, yeah these older trucks don't go for much anymore, I've had mine since 04' when I was 16 and probably won't sell it for many years more. After 95k miles in it I'm far too attached (its wierd I know, but aren't we all attached to these things?).

Does your truck have the E4OD? I've been told that the E4OD's made after March 22 of 1995 have a center support bearing in them that really seemed to make it a solid trans. I have 175k on mine and it seems to be rock solid so I have no reason to doubt it (just jinxed that one!).

Im in western MA and would take a look/offer too. Hate to tell you it will just be a city plow truck but that's what these girls are good for to me ... The 95 F 250 downstairs in the garage now has a busted off rear spring perch. I plan to drive it to the shop to use the lift to do it. The houses garage is just a bit too tight to do this. BTW they are 26 bucks and a hours work. If that's all that is holding you back and making you sell... a local guy may be willing to do it for you if you can drop it at the shop till I have time to get to it. One way or the other shops in Leominster house is in Ashburnham current job site is in Oxford. Im all over the state on any given day. Hit me up ...

i dont think depreciation on these trucks has cought up to e-bay yet. all the trucks on there of this year are priced way over blue book. try selling it on there. its rediculous the amount of money people want for these. you'll probably come out like a king.

Update....

I got off my a$$ yesterday and got under the truck. The exhaust leak turned out to be the tail of the catalytic converter being rusted away, allowing the rest of the exhaust to fall off. Also found that every hanger was rusted down to nothing. Since I don't have a welder or a lift, I brought it to a local muffler show that sounds like MinorKey, and got an estimate of about $250. I had them do it. New pipe welded to the cat and new from there back. He did a bunch of hangers that he fabricated and did a very nice job. Only thing is I lost the dual exhaust pipe...big deal.

Then, I got under it and tackled the leaky oil pan. Found a pin hole at a very easily accessed location. Cleaned it up, sanded it and epoxied it and so far no leak apparent.

Either going to keep it now or ask a lot more for it.

Most of the newer trucks aren't even made to be put to serious work hauling stuff in the bed. I worked for a place that installed alot of flat beds on trucks and the stock beds don't hold up to hardly anything. They all have thinner sheet metal on them than our trucks do so they get dented and "trashed" looking alot easier and faster. I love having an older truck that I can just throw what ever I want in the bed and not care!
