Does anybody else's 7.3 vibrate really bad when idleing?
No, in fact if it weren't for the sound the engine makes, I wouldn't even know it was running. It should be quite smooth at idle.
Shaking and/or vibrating at idle makes me think of a possible injector or fuel issue. Assuming you have an automatic, you can try this test: Get your truck up to a 42-45 mph cruising speed with light throttle so you are in top gear (OD) with the TC locked. Then roll into the throttle (but not so much as to make your trans downshift) and accelerate 60 mph. Does your engine shake and vibrate and then smooth out around 60 mph? If so, then you are probably running on 7 cylinders and will need to figure out what the issue is.
If you are down on power and it feels like you have to put a lot of foot into it to get up to cruising speed, then you 'might' have a fuel restriction. When was the last time your fuel filter was changed? Do you know the history of your truck? Do you have any gauges? If you have a pyro, then what it your EGTs while cruising at 55 mph?
