Auto trans gurus! Help solve Please.

I finally got my engine put back in. However it wont shift through the gears when driving down the road??? If I start in first, I can then shift it into second on the column, and it will change gears, but when I shift it into drive manually on the column it just revs like its in neutral!????? Any ideas? Also I have a check engine light on and when the guy was trying to read it on the computer tonight it says "no correspondence" any thoughts on that? Sorry so many questions! I was left to reassemble everything on my own by the shop, and I'm no mechanic! Just trying to piece the puzzle back together!

drivers side of the transmission, where the cable connects. sometimes they aren't adjusted correctly, sometimes they fail electrically.

"no Correspondence" usually means no bus connection between the tool and the PCM. Could be not fully seated connectors (anywhere in the path), bent pins, broken/shorted wire in the harness.

Is this an easy fix? The ford dealer wants 550 to replace this sensor and the map sensor. I'm thinking that's a little steep.
