I have a stock 2011 Superduty FX4 Crew Cab...it has 17 inch wheels and tires. I can purchase stock 20 inch polished aluminum wheels that come with BF Goodrich 285 /65 /20 . If I purchase and install the wheels and tires.....will I have issues with the tires rubbing against parts of the truck. I was told the following....You need a leveling kit for the front....also If you level the front....the front of the truck will ride higher...when I tow my small trailer everyday.....I would then need tp purchase new 4 inch blocks for the rear of the truck....So at this time ...I already have a leveling kit, I would just like to purchase and install the wheels and tires and not do nothing else to the truck. By the way ...I have new Bilstein shocks 5100 intransit ...they should arrive next week...So yall please tell what yall are thinking.....
This might be late but here I go. I have 20's and the BFG's you list and they are perfectly fine without any leveling at all. As a matter of fact I could go to 295 or 315's and still not rub with BFG's. Epic has the TOYO's and they are wider and have more tread external from the contact patch.
I don't know who's feeding you this line about needing to get blocks for the rear but I would run from them anytime they offer advice in the future. As I said I have what you are looking at, and I tow an 11,000 pound 5th wheel and there is no issue at all. So you towing a little trailer will seem like a joke. I tow my 18 foot boat, about 2,800 pounds including trailer and fully geared, and I use a 6" drop hitch because the truck doesn't squat but maybe 1/4" when I hook it up.
I also towed my brothers 4500 lb, 27 foot camper without ANY load distribution hitch. My truck still barely squatted 1 1/2 inches, I needed to get a bigger drop hitch because the rear of the camper bumper was going to scrape the ground.
I have always put 35" tires without a lift, no rubbing, it depends on offset of wheel. In regards to the leveling, my f250 was 1 inch higher in the back, I installed readylift 2.5 inch in front and it came with 4 inch replacement blocks and u bolts, the u bolt design changed in 2011, so be sure to order blocks with 2011 only ubolts., my truck sits .5 inch higher in back now.
