I've just purchased a '97 B-2300 regular cab, 5-speed standard with 69,000 original miles. Other than paint and the bench seat, it's in great condition.
I'd like to find a better used bench because something is broke on the drivers side and I'm sitting in a hole. Does anyone know what year Mazda/Ranger benches will fit a 1997?
I've done a search and no useful info comes up. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Try E-Bay and local salvage yards. Any seat from '95 to '97 should fit. Is your seat a true one-piece bench seat or a 60/40 split? If it is the split seat, you only need to replace/repair the driver's seat. LMC Truck carries bench and bucket seat rebuilding kits. They are listed at LMCTruck.com.
Even if you have a true, one-piece bench seat, you should be able to replace it with either 60/40 split seats or bucket seats.
If you have a welder or acces to one you could break down the seat and weld the broken springs back together. Done that trick several times and it works pretty good. Just make sure that you remove everything down to the seat frame. Since you do all the labor it would be an inexspensive fix.
dont know where you are located but I have a 60/40 from my 94 you can have. Was in good shape just anted to upgrade to buckets. Got power seats from a 01 I think explorer, straight bolt in except for the electrics and the seat belt mount.
Thanks folks for the replies.
Michigan, I'll check the local junk yards now that I have some model years to deal with.
Hank, I live in CT so that ain't gonna work. Wish it could though, I'd be all over it.
WP, I think I'm gonna pull the seat. I don't have a welder but I bet I could do something with some wire and maybe a turnbuckle. We'll see what it looks like. I love this website and appreciate you great members.
Hi there pogy50/Paul, maybe you can show pictures of the mazda truck parts that you got on a project thread! The b series are a rare sight for me and it would really be nice to see one of these babies restored
