Took truck to ford dealership to see what was causing rough idle and was told that number 2 cylinder compression was low by approx 20 percent and when tech attempted to remove sparkplug to inspect he found the threads were damaged and that the truck will require hear removal to inspect for damage. Then was told better to replace cylinder head which will cost approx 4500 upwards, truck in good shape but with age at 1999 not worth that kind of expence. Was told that the spark plug could be shook with your hand it was that loose in the cylinder, anyone know of any other fixes for this issue or is it time to look for another truck as i was hoping to get another couple years out of this truck then get an f150 with the ecoboost.
You can try re-torquing the plug,if that's no good, look into a time-sert plug repair kit.
It will fix the plug anyway(if that where you losing compression. You should be good.
