It's the tag I took off of the truck I got and it was on a 78 F250 4x4 with a 390 in it. Go figure

I just returned from an 18 day vacation in the PNW (WA/OR). While "She who must be obeyed" drove, I looked at the scenery, old vehicle scenery...that is.

I stopped counting Dentsides when I got to 131! Most were located in WA, a couple were located on the OR side of the Columbia River Gorge.

So, if you can't find the truck you're looking for...IMO, you aren't looking hard enough.

I also spotted a coupla dozen Slicks, over 50 Bumpsides, a 1965 Mercury pickup in Friday Harbor, and an AC Mack Bulldog in Brewster.

Twisp has dozens of interesting old piles, including a 1956 Ford Cabover Wrecker, and an early 1950's Dodge Wrecker.

I have a 83 here with a 6 banger and auto with power steering, might be a good donor vehicle!

429,Thanks for the offer. From what I've read on this forum, the ideal donor for my 66 is a 1973-1979. I want to harvest the power steering, disc brakes and the auto trans. I want to stick with the 6 cylinder so I need to find the right donor for the power steering pump, brackets and crank pulley. I haven't done this before so I am trusting the advice of other members on the year range. I don't think too many new truck buyers ordered the 6 cylinder with all of the creature comforts I'm looking for. I've chased a lot of leads only to find something missing. My old truck is definitely a low priority project. I don't drive it too often and it's mostly something to tinker with during the 11 months of gray drizzle we live with every year.

Ill keep an eye out over here in the pull and save. Probably will show up there. Multiple ford truck years and options between those years some with ac too. I believe they are on the net too. Might ck and give them a call. They are a division of Spaldings auto dismantlers. Probably one of the biggest in eastern wa.

Buzz, I appreciate the watchful eye. I keep a pretty close eye on Craigslist all around the state. Up in my corner of the state, almost all of the small wreckers are out of business. There's only a couple of big recyclers and they don't keep a thing over 10 years old. I try to take back roads every chance I get to look for old trucks. Thanks again for the help.

I know this truck, Friday Harbor is my home town. I blew more than one paycheck in Herbs in my younger life.

Oldblu, Almac by the refineries in Anacortes still deals in old iron and they don't pull the motors so there is a good chance of finding an intact ac unit.
They were the only ones who had a decent '76 donor for my disc upgrade.
