I had a squealing belt on my pickup and finally decided to change it yesterday. After about 5 minutes of searching I found great pictures and a step by step writeup on how to change the serpentine. Dang if I could find it again today, but thanks to all of the guys and gals on here who have helped me wrench on my own truck rather than having to pay someone else!
I have plenty of confidence and a general understanding of everything, but sometimes it is that extra direction from someone else's experience that really makes a project, even a small one that much easier!
It's funny, I replaced my belt 2 weeks ago and got my *** kicked doing it. WTF!! It was just a bad day I guess. It was 95 degrees and humid as hell I helped my friend replace his a few months back in half of the time(of course). I may not say it much, but those of you who do this for a living...God Bless. I was completely ready for a butt whoopin' that is for sure. Especially when I removed the upper fan shield and realized how little that got out of my way! It was about 120 heat index when I started with the sun shining bright. Not ideal conditions, but time seems precious anymore and I am pulling a camper this weekend and want no worries... and AC! But like I said, sometimes it is the small bits of information and technique that others have learned and are willing to pass on to others that make it so easy. Dad and I got it done in about 45 minutes max.
