Make it faster?

Well..from what i have read in these posts..there is a chip we can buy for about 289$ that is supposed to boost power and get better gas mileage...but i never bought one my self because it sounds like a bunch of crap!! 300$ for a computer chip? gimme a break....i bought a can of octain booster that made my BII run like a champ..but ..remember..they are not speed demons..they are what they are..4x4..reliable and fun to drive..
.( do some u-turns and impress yer friends..lol).if you find something...let us all know!!!

Like baddmove said, it's an multi-purpose vehicle built on a truck platform. It isn't a sports car.
In another forum where I saw this discussed, some were of the opinion that any significant gains were going to be expensive. And, from what I've gathered, you may increase horsepower, but you will also shift your peak torque to higher RPMS. In other words, you may gain high end horsepower, but you will lose some low end torque, which is said to be one of the strengths of the 2.9 L engine.
I'm not an expert on engine performance, so if someone knows of ways to increase hp without cutting low end torque, speak up. It jsut appears that there is a trad off in getting those higher numbers.
