i have a 97 powerstroke and i got a crazy idea to put parallel twins using 2 holsets off of an 12 valve cummins plainnning on running around 25 psi of boost any tips on how i shoujld do it and what to set up for fuel and tunning i work at a diesel shop and i can get almost all the parts i need and we got lots of 12v engines around are shop so im looking for some help and ideas on what all i should use and how to set every thing up.
I don't have a clue but do you know you can hit 30psi of boost with just chip, downpipe, intake, stageI's on the the stock turbo. Alot cheaper then twins just saying but it would be cool if you get it done
yeah i know it would be cheaper and way easyer but i want to be diffrent and i would look pretty sweet and i seen the guy running the one on youtube it looked pretty good i just dont wanna sacrifice street drive ability.
Its actually better to run them in series than it is parallel. But that being said a stock holset off of a cummins is too small for our truck in series. Most of them that ive seen use our stock turbo then get a 88mm turbo off of a 10-12L cummins or detroit. The hardest part is squeezing the 4" or 5" downpipe out.
course that being said, you'll need head studs for sure. Ive seen a set of twins on my friends cummis push 80psi+ course thats with big injectors and a big pump. Before that it was about 50 psi with stage 1 injectors.
thanks for the links. i have found a few others and i think i got a game plan figured out so it should all work out good i hope ill have some pics once i get started and some turbos mocked up.
