Need help or a favor
I know it's a long shot, but thought I'd try it and see. I live in Agency, and need a truck picked up in Wichita and brought to me. Problem is that the only trailers I have access to are 16' and the truck is a supercab/longbed, ie wheelbase alone is 16'. Any of you guys up this way got a trailer that would haul it, and willing to either take me to get it or let me borrow the trailer? I'll cover gas, lunch and can maybe give a few bux. A friend has an 84 crewcab with 460 that said he would haul it if we can get a trailer. Short time frame, wanting to get it by wed/thurs. Any help or ideas would be nice.

Well being that you live north of KC, I would guess my trailer is too far away, I live down by Bolivar. Have you checked in to any rental places?
There are a few down here that rent bumper pulls or call around and ck out the cost in a wrecker service with a roll back, probably to much $$$ though.
Maybe a small auto shop or business would rent one to you??

Yes should fit width wise, but I am sure U-haul has a weight limit allowed on them....just don't tell them what you are putting on it???? That was my inner voice leaking out.
Put it on and drop the rear drive shaft completely and get your drag on. Is there not a construction company or business that has a 20 or 22 ft bumper pull they would rent?
If you use a rental dolly and break it you will buy it, FYI. Like over loading a U-haul car trailer, just bite the bullet and rent a big enough trailer to haul it.

first off, what is the size of the truck, you said crew cab long bed, but what size??? 150,250,350 + ???? a 16" trailer can very easily carry this truck, remember just because the trailer is 16' doesnt mean whats on it cant extend past the end of the trailer, back the truck onto the trailer to disperse the remaining weight forward and ratchet strap teh vehicle down very good, a good way to insure its going to stay is deflate he tires to about 20lbs, strap it down and add 20lbs of air to teh tires, itll stretch the straps without breaking them... its very doable, try to at least use a 3/ton to pull the trailer.. as they usually have the stronger gear ratios and beter transmissions... good luck, let us know how it goes.

btw, a long bed ford crew cab is 168.4" wheelbase.... your well under 16' at 14' your good to go, make sure to center the weight on center of the trailer axles or about 10-15% forward, easiest way to tell, if the trailer sits level, the truck is centered, if the rear of the truck lifts, too much to the rear.... if hte truck sags too hard, to far forward... good luck

I thought about selling it if it's worth enough. I don't want it. Also want to trade the square headlight surrounds for round ones. My round ones are broken. This truck has a strange in cab hood lock too. What's the tranny worth? Jump seats and a good bench worth sellin? My 4x has a bench backseat and I like it better.
