i'm new to this.
anyway i have a 300 inline six in my f-600 dump truck i got the truck for dirt cheap but it needed lots of work well after a month of workin on it its all put back together only one problem the motor misses horribly when throttleing up. it idles great but the second i give it more than 1/4 throttle it just won't rev up i put a brand new carb on it and new points set the timing and readjusted the valves to spec. and no luck any ideas on what this could be?
Mr. T, is the accelerator pump squirting when you look into the carb (engine off!) and move the linkage back and forth? You shouldn't have to touch the valves as they are hyd. and once set up, they are set for good. Have you tried hooking up a inductive timing light to any one of the plug wires while it is idling, then look into the biz end of the light to see if the light stops indicating spark as soon as you pump the gas? Those two tests will point you towards the problem. Let me know, I have more things that you can try.
