My 96 F350 Build Thread >>(3/4 update w/pics )<<

Yeah so this is my project thread. My truck is a 96 f350 351 reg cab high boy with 33s. Dual tanks and alot of rust. Rite now i am pulling the front clip off so i can pull the engine because i accidentally put a small hole in the block around February and it was JB welded for the rest of winter and i now have a replacement (another 351). But i also plan to paint up the engine bay and all the parts etc. The reason for pulling the nose off is also to replace front fenders radiator core support and the radiator core support brackets and a new aluminum radiator. Im also putting some flowtech LTs on i figure they will be easier to put on also while the nose is off. I also plan to get a pair of one piece clear headlights. i I have a tailgate i bought from a guy just needs sanding and some painto old 351 lastly the hole that i JB welded

Thanks sideWinder your trucks cool to. I already bought the Flowtechs from summit but ill make sure to put them on rite after i put the engine in there will be less clutter. ps i thought they dumped rite in front of the trans mount but i thought that was just with the AOD trans because i thought the E4OD trans( what i have ) was a little farther back on the frame. correct me if im wrong though.

Just a Couple FYIs.

There is no such thing as a HIGH BOY since 1977

It is going to need a wee bit more than sanding and paint to fix ROT.

How did you get a hole in the block anyway?

1. I know haha
2.Im getting new or non rusted junkyard body panels and the frame isnt rotted any where its just surface rust and i put a wire brush wheel on a grinder and that does a good job of rust removal then por15.
3. Now this was my bad, and you need to learn from your mistakes. i put a new manifold on the passenger side and i was wire brushing the engine because i figured i could spray it with some paint while the inner fender was out . there was a big chunk of rust so i was chipping the rust off with a screw driver and ......i guess i just hit the rite spot because the screw driver tip broke though ( also the metal i broke through was extremely thin ) it just made a little hole it didnt crack but, as soon as i put a hole in it antifreeze just started spewing everywhere...
Thanks diesel_brad

Are you SURE the frame is good? It takes an awefull lot of rust to make cast thin enough to put a screwdriver thru it
