I bought and installed a replacement headliner on a 1967 F-100; I kept the original four retaining strips. The new headliner is not taut enough; it sags here and there with all 10 screws and clips installed. Does anyone have ideas on how to tighten the headliner up so it looks sharp and does not sag?
Do you have the center screw installed??? On these model trucks, the only thing that holds the headliner in place is the trim that goes around the outside of the headliner that bolts to the top of the cab AND 1 screw that goes right in the middle of the headliner that also screws to the top of the cab. All the other places from the center screw to the outside trim will sag slightly.
Just curiuos, who did you go with to buy the headliner? Im in the market for an original perforated headliner and having no luck so it looks like I may have to go with DC and snag one up. Just wondering if the one you got also looks just like an original headliner. Good luck!
W2, thanks for info. I DO have center screw installed; the whole 1-piece headliner is slightly skewed forward and right with slight sags. Bought it in Ocala, FL at NPD. Going rate everywhere is $120.
