as some of you guys know I just put in moog balljoints both upper and lowers the truck steers GREAT and rides smooth.
Anyway I was just wondering about the grease fittings on the upper balljoint I greased them and then I pulled the grease zert out and installed the plug. I didnt want to chance the axel taking out the grease zert.
I found a grease zert that didnt hang down as far as the one that came with the moogs but its not too much shorter maybe an 1/8inch shorter so IDK
Is everyone just leaving the plug in untill it needs greasing or has anyone had any luck with a 90* grease zert that doesnt hit. The other one that I found clears when its just sitting there in the driveway Im just worried about taking it out going down the road
I just greased mine up and put the plug in. there is not enough clearance for a fitting there. Or even with a flush mount type zerk fitting you can't get the grease gun on it using the needle style end.
I replaced my ball joints with the Moog ball joints also. I installed straight grease fittings in the upper ball joints and use a right angle grease coupler to grease them. I have no interference issues and don't have to remove the plugs at each greasing. I bought the right angle grease coupler at TSC. It works great!

Reason: typo
just use a 90 deg. low height fitting and take it to the bench grinder and just kiss it on the back corner....tons of room now....I have had them in there for a couple years....and I use my 4x4 on a weekly basis.
