wiper motor?

I've got a '92 F150 with a wiper problem. When I shut the wipers off they stop mid-cycle and when I push the washer button the wipers will continue to run unless I shut the truck off and restart it. I replaced the whole unit on the column but I still have the same problem. I was wondering if there's some type of relay in the fuse and if that may be the problem. I can't get my hands on one right now. The fuse is metalic and reminds me of a turn signal relay. I would really appreciate it if someone would be able to help me out. Thanks in advance.

I suspect that the parking switch that is built into your wiper motor is bad. I believe that you have to replace the motor to correct this.

wiper motor?

It's most likely inside the motor.

wiper motor?

I have same problem but Im blessed enough to workl at a Ford dealership so i pulled out the serivce manual and the flow chart gives us 3 things that could be the problem
1. the switch on the column
2. the WCM (wiper control module) located behind the glove box
3. the motor itself is worn out
the module is about $50 Im not sure about the motor
good luck and Godbless

Mine did the same thing. Tryied replacing the witch on the column but that didn't work. You have to change the wiper motor. shouldn't be much more that 30 bucks. the bad part is you have to remove the cowl to get to it, which requires removing the window molding as well. trust me take all of the parts off. I broke the windshild trying to wiggle the cowl out from under the trim.
