Question

air control question

I was wondering since i have heard that newer rangers have a problem staying running when it is cold because of a bad IAC (idle air control) valve if my 2.8 L v6 has anything similar to that besides the idle control servo motor.

Rangers not staying running when it's cold? Haven't heard any real complaining about this.

What year is your Ranger? I would guess that since it has the 2.8 it's got a carb and not fuel injected, right? The IAC valve is (to my knowledge anyway) only on fuel injected engines.

Yes, mrwizard, correct. 85 & older are carb. And I don't know that an IAC was ever used on the carb models. Can anyone comfirm that??
