dying ipr??

put new orings in it about a month ago just becuase i was in there any way. but since monday its been having starting issues, very intermittently. now its just not starting for awhile at all then will just snap out of it. pretty sure its the ipr but finally something died and it sounds really weird. wont be able to scan untill tomorrow but wanted to ask your opinions.

doesnt matter if its hot or cold, just wont start then will just snap our of it after x amount of minutes like it never had an issue. took off the tin nut and cleaned a little bit of mystery oil on the shaft of the ipr and started right up. shut it off 10 mins later and wont start again. when it ran it was mint, now the pedal is delayed and kind of free revs when you stab the pedal. slow to rev and very doggy like pressure ICP is being bled off. am i on the right track? dont want to blow 200 on an ipr if thats not it!

Have you tried unplugging icp sensor when it wouldn't start? Maybe res is draining or lpop can't keep up? You're going to laugh when I tell you this but when I was tracking down my low icp problem I talked to joey at terminator and he said you can manually check to see if the ipr is sticking by sucking on it. Put your lips on the orings and look at the ground sucking on it and you should get air through it and then bring your head up and look at the sky while still sucking on it and you shouldn't get any air if its working correctly.

If it is stuck you can take them apart and clean them. The threads are tight so we chucked it in a collet in a lathe with the brake on and busted it loose with a wrench. Just make sure you pay real close attention to how everything came apart because there's a pin that if you get backwards it'll stick open.

My zero icp problem ended up being a bad hpop

Doesn't seem mechanical to me.
You need to see what HPOil psi is when you get the scanner and go from there.

Thanks Justin, yeah I tried icp and when it finally does start it runs way worse. Checked oil res and it's full, so if it was a dyin lpop it would be the same all the time. When I starts it runs fine untill the check engine light comes on I can blip the key sorbs light goes off then it's fine again. Then the light will come on again. That's why I think it's the ipr. Joey finally got back to means he thought the same, there's 700 miles on my t500

That are very good tips about how to make a simple test the IPR and the use of a lathe to loose the threads.

Rep sent

I wouldn't think it would be the LPOP. If it's the LPOP, I would think it'd start fine with the HPOP rez full, then stumble when the LPOP can't keep the rez full, then either die or stumble and come back to life. I'd try like Justin said and unplug the ICP when trying to start and/or pull the IPR and check it out. Not sure I would want to be the one to get caught sucking on it though! LOL

Mine is taking a bit to start also and I've been too lazy to tear into it. It's idling a bit funny too. Runs fine except for that though. I'm thinking it's my injectors though. When I crank mine the IPR will start trying to build pressure and when it starts ICP will jump up to around 2400psi and drop back down to normal. IPR DC gets up to around 50-60% on mine before it will start...

Ok so pulled 1 1211 code, tried 2 icp sensors and that's not it. Ice registered 1.41 and 725-900 psi at idol. Still thinking ipr. Not goiinh to lie guys, the truck absolutely RIPS now, noreen lag and it will hit 30psi again. Pulls really hard but idols like crap. Starts every time now

725-900 rpm idle?
Does it hunt up and down?
If so I'd say tuning will fix your problem.
Have you run it with no chip just to see diffrence?
