how much will it effect my 1990 ford f-150 302 to put headers on it, catalytic converter is eliminated, and have the o2 sensor reading from just the right bank instead of how it is now where both pipes did run into the cat and right in front of that there was a tube that goes between the two pipes where the o2 sensor is screwed in?
Maybe a lot; maybe none. It depends on how the cylinders it monitors are running compared to the ones it's not. If the whole engine is generally in good shape and the other bank is burning just like the bank with the sensor, everything will be fine. If one bank is running differently, then the other bank will be getting the wrong mix.

On my 85 F150 302 the O2 sensor was in the right manifold, and is now in the right header. Since it's EFI, I think the flow blended from 4 cylinders would be adequate.
