Part out True or False?

OK, so I am in California and I'm trying to sell/trade/give some cab/chassis parts and I had a caller telling me that I needed a registration or some such. really? For a cab with fenders, hood and doors? It's all parts. I guess you could put it on a dolly and fred flintstone it around . . . Those with experience please enlighten. Tell me it ain't so. Otherwise I have to scrap these good pieces. Came out of a ranch that came from another ranch, etc. no documents. Just parts.

Thanks.

Over in La La land there are a lot of strange happenings that the rest of the US of A doesn't have to contend with. Selling parts shouldn't be one of them. Tell your caller to pee off.

Selling a complete vehicle will be another bucket of worms, but Mr. Wilson can verify.

A cab at that age with papers......no. It doesn't have a VIN on it as the VIN tag is on the driver door. I think your caller had a truck with a bad title and was trying to get a legal title thru your parts. I bought a set of '67 doors, thru Ebay, shipped from CA and they didn't have any paper work. So, sell/trade/give away!

no need for papers if you are selling "parts"
like 19704x4f250 said that buyer was looking for a title he could transfer

X2

This is definitely what it sounds like to me. Like the others have said, as long as you are selling it as parts, it's all good.

Ahhh . . .

I'm one of those straight shooters (unless it is fishing stories) that uses up his IQ just getting through each day, not figuring out how to work the system. Your explanation of people trying to get a valid title another way makes sense. It was definately an odd phone call (wife or girlfriend talking to me while fielding questions from husband etc.). I'd rather drop the exhaust on my face than have another phone call like that. . . wait, I've already done both! Definatley a parts only thing. Thanks so much for the info.
Cheers.
