motor mount braces
I sold my 53 and a flathead v8 to a guy and his plans was to take the 289 out of the 53 and put the flathead in it. But the braces in the 53 have been removed so my ???'s are Well the braces out of a 51 fit on the 53 also will the trans. crossmember from the 51 fit the 53. The 289 in the 53 is still my motor and he has 90 days to get it back to me so i'm thinking if i can help this guy with braces better chance i get my 289 back. Only reason he has it is his wife won't let him buy the truck if it didn't run. lol [WOMEN]

I believe the model year change between 52 and 53 prohibits that from working. I don't believe the 51 braces will work. He should try to find the mounts for a 53 to make it work correctly.
But then again, I could be mistaken.
