Not sure if timing is correct!
Hi all I'm new to this form, but I sure need yaw's help. My son and I (mostly him) rebuilt the engin in his 99 f150. It's a 2wd with auto trans. and approx. 150.000 on it. the reason for the rebuild was no. 7 rod started knocking after an oil change. When it came time to install the timing chains we went by the Chilton manuel and I thought we had done the job the correct way. when he cranked the engine after installing it in the truck, I was not around so I don't know what may have went wrong. When I did get to it, the engine has a knocking sound, and it is skipping. Could some one instruct me as to what may have went wrong. Thanks for any help and I hope that everyone can understandmy description of what happen.
