Hey Everyone,

I am having a bit of an issue with my EGT guage and I am hoping someone here can help me out. I installed these a couple of months ago and have had this problem off and on since I did the install. Anyways, when I start the truck, sometimes the guage starts out at zero and builds up as the truck warms up. This works like it should. Other times, it starts in a straight down position (like 6 o clock as zero is roughly 7 or 8 oclock). It works great from there, but then you don't know the termperature becuase it started in the wrong spot. Sometimes it bounces around a bit as well (jumps up and down), which leads me to believe it is getting interferred with by something else. I have pulled the pod and changed all of my wiring to the guage and checked that everything is grounded (I grounded it to the ground under the steering wheel). I have also checked all my wiring from the probe and even swapped the probe. I keep getting the same result.

I am hoping someone here can help me out. Do I have a bad guage? I tend not to think so since it does work sometimes. Any help you guys can give is appreciated.

I'd call Autometer & see what they say, sounds like a bad gauge to me if you have a good ground like you say you do
