I havent posted in quite a while here so I thought that I would,
A few weeks ago I installed a brake M/C from a 68 mustang with drums on my 64 F100 with stock brakes and this is what I learned.
1) POR 15 is no better than $1 bomb can at being a M/C paint. It still peels off asap!
2) The mustang master reduces pedal pressure with stock brakes by about 10%. Not great, but noticable.
I did this swap primarly for safety. I installed a wilwood proportioning valve as I do plan to install discs up front someday. Even then I think the slight reductrion in pedal effort is worth it. Before the discs I would even think of trying wilwoods 7/8 bore aluminum M/C as a brake improving option.
great idea on the set up. hope it serves well. Yeah, I was skeptical on that por-15 stuff, with everybody going on and on about it. you get 500 million people looking at you-tube watching some clown apply the stuff , next thing you know its on every forum i've subscribed to. I bought a 20$ gallon can of industrial enamel from Northern Tool. Still hasn't chipped\peeled, even with all my clumbsiness
