I was loading up my buddies donor truck and my winch just quit working. Anyone know anything about winches? Ramsey 9000 platinum. Started to dolly out then just stopped. Solenoids just click. Moved the clutch and we can roll it out by hand, so it is not froze or stuck. We had to load that one ton the hard way! I have 2 more trucks to move this weekend. Not going to w/o my winch. Too much damn work! Spoiled ever since I got this damn thing. LOL Is there a fuse or a reset switch? I have been searching the web and have come up with nothing. So I am either looking up the wrong thing or am just to stupid to figure it out.
Don`t know but a winch motor will draw a fair current, so I would check the main wires at both ends. Make sure the connections are clean and tight on both pos and neg feeds to it and check for any burning/corrosion at the ends.
Check the solenoids and make sure they all work. Not sure about the winch you have, but some need 4 solenoids, 2 for each direction. If one burnt out, or the wiring got fried, its not going to work.

Other than that, it could be the motor died.
Crap. I don't find your aim at my post toasties that impressive.
well of course ur wench quit pulling on u when was the time u cover her in the rain for cleaned her lol
This winch has never been wet. It is stored in my garage when I am not using it. I don't mess around with expensive equipment like that. Especially since I use it and SOMETIMES my living depends on it.
You ever heard the phrase, "Who pissed in your post toasties?"? Must be a young one! LOL
I've heard that phrase, but with Wheaties.. never heard of post toasties, maybe its a geographic thing. At 40 years I'm probably one of the older guys here!

Thanks for the replies.
I'm lost at what you meant here too?
I was just trying to throw out some troubleshooting ideas...
If they're built close by, definitely bring it in for service. They should be able to figure out what is wrong with it quickly and be able to get you the parts, or rebuild it for you for a decent price.
