HELP EGR removal problems

i have an 05 f250 diesel and i'am trying to remove the EGR to clean it.

i have removed blots and EGR turns freely but i can not pull it out. i have tryed a wire on the bolt holes, turning and pulling but the F$%&ing thing will not come out.

Does anyone have any other idea's.

You are in the f150 forum. But since I just dumped my 6.0l for an Ecoboost I can help lol

The wire trick didn't work for me either. Use a nail puller/cat's claw type. I took a flat screwdriver and hammered the side of the egr at its base where the bolts go. That way I could turn the egr valve so the bolt part was sticking out past the side and you can get a nail puller/cats paw under it and pry up.

It's also easier when warm.
