I have a 1994 F250 4x4 . Original 5.8L has been bored .040 over, all the usual machine work...ARP rod bolts, Clevite bearings, etc. Anyhow, to save $$ on upgrading the top-end, I already had a Edelbrock 351w Performer, misc Holley carbs, and had aquired a custom ground Crane roller cam a while ago. SO....I went carberated w a Holley 650cfm/vac sec. ProComp HEI dist which only needs a hot wire to run it & eliminates the separate coil. After many hours of tuning and various fuel system setups, I managed to get the engine to start on the turn of the key, and idle w a nice rumble. throttle response is instant and revs Quickly to 6500 )....
Here's the issue. Now since I do not use the ECM to control engine functions, it seems to screw up the trans operation once it reaches operating temp. I have taken the bottom of trans apart (valve bodies, solenoid packs, accumulator, etc) and installed TRansGo Tugger kit. Problem is after unit heats up Drive turns into Neutral...can downshift to 2nd and 1st. But only those two gears work.........Anyone have a clue what next other than swapping out a C6??
