The E4OD in our truck has almost 30K miles on the rebuild the PO paid for. Last weekend, we took the animal trailer to a show and got set up. Left the trailer there and a few miles up the road, the RPM suddenly increased (about 50 mph). Drove to safe place to pull off and check fluid. the downshifts were very harsh. Fluid at the bottom of the warm mark so with the gauge showing 150 deg F on the fluid, I figured we were ok. Started up the road and the upshifts were also harsh and I'd say they were late, too. Stopped at the convenience store and got some sodas; again, downshifts harsh getting off the hiway.
started back up the road and things were normal. only difference between the two stops was engine cut off on the second stop. never recurred the following day when getting the trailer and the animals. My daughter did say the TCIL blinked during the first occurence but I didn't note it.
Three days later, same event, maybe at 45 mph. Thinking back, pulled over and cycled the key. back on the road and all was fine (drove another 150 miles and then back home) and no more issues.
Spent the past two hours searching the E4OD threads and haven't found anything similar. BTW, checked for DTC with the AE and there were none stored.
