2000 mile heavy pull observations
Just got back from a 2000 mile round trip grossing 24K. Heavy 5er with lots of wind resistance.
Here are some observations:
1. between 9 and 10 MPG average. Not bad at all in my estimation.
2. Faulty February flash never caused a moment's grief. Saw boost as high as 35 and kept on keepin' on.
3. Cleaning Exhaust indicator has split personalities. If in heavy pull when the cycle starts it seems to stay lit the entire time, otherwise it only stays lit a few seconds.
4. Ford nav system is not nearly as smart as my old portable 2720 Garmin. Took I-57 south out of Chicago to I-72 and US-36 home. According to computer this route shaved a whole mile and half off my trip. It was shorter than I-80 west to Lincoln, NE and south. For fully 60 miles, Betsy kept tryimg to turn me around and head me back to Chicago and I-80. When she finally became convinced that I had a mind of my own, she then wanted to go south to St. Louis, adding another 140 plus miles to my trip. She kept insisting that I do that until I was roughly 50 miles east of Hannibal, MO, where she finally gave up and said, "OK you can travel US-36 now." And she'd been set for short route since she began to try to take me to Saint Louis.
BTW - The Henry Ford . . . is awesome!!!! If you ever get a chance . . .

Great story on the GPS. I think they all do it.
I am in Florida right now, from Maryland it wanted to go down I95. No way I was gonna do that stop and go stuff.
I took I 81 then down I77.
In my case I added on about 40 miles but based upon traffic I probably saved several hours of aggrievation.
What temps did you have during the run?
