460 egr question
I am putting a <a href="http://www.motorhaven.com/">460 </a>in a 1986 f250. heavy duty. does anyone know if i have to put the egr system on the engine to have it pass emissions. i live in colorado. any info would be great. thanx.

Yes you do indeed need the EGR valve to pass the test. If you leave it out you will fail on the NOX portion of the test and you may encounter pre-ignition or detonation problems.

Hey nick thanks for that. Could u elaborate on what u said, about ignition and detonation. I called the emissions guys and they said it wont fail the test if it is not there, but might not pass the sniffer test, or whatever it is.
