I just made my monthly trec to work. (400 Miles) I noticed that the valve stem lined up with some lettering on the tire at the beginning of the trip. At the end of the trip, the stem was about three inches behind. Of course I dont know if it moved three inches or one revolution and three inches! (or more)
Has anyone else seen or heard of this? I could see this if I was running single digit air pressure. I'm running 30 psi. Does this sound normal? I dont see how a tire would stay balanced if it moves on the wheel all the time.

That is beyond strange. I mean, a tire slipping on the rim should yield massive air loss if not total bead failure. I'd mark the rim and the tire in several places with a grease pencil and go for a drive just to verify thats what is truly happening.
I've had some 265-70x17s mounted on aluminum rims for about 5000 miles--no movement. They had a yellow dot to line up with the valve stem, and they are all still in line.
If they are moving, maybe have the tire shop take a look see--too much tire lube, wrong kind?????
