Correct voltage output

I have the edge insight cts gauge on my truck to watch everything. For the first year it was always at 13.9 - 14.1 while it was running. In the last month it is running at 13.3 -13.6, and it doesn't matter if the lights are on or not. The reason I question this is because the last month if the truck sits for more then two or three days the batteries die. The batteries are exactly a year old and I just took them to be tested and they are both over 85%. Can an alternator partially fail? Or not produce enough voltage to properly charge the batteries?

The way to test the charging system is usually with the truck running. Then command max alt output and see what you get.

I don't have access to the shop manual for this truck, but for my other Ford car the spec is 13.0-15.0 V alternator output voltage.

I think you're fine. I agree with Scott: Start the truck, turn on everything electrical at their highest setting such as blower motor, heated mirrors, lights, etc. and check voltage. If you're above 13 it's charging fine.

Yeah, I have an Edge and mine runs 13.5 most of the time, but the batteries should not die in 2 or 3 days. Are you saying they will not start the truck after sitting for 2 or 3 days? If so, you either have bad batteries or an eletrical drain when the truck is turned off. If you start the truck and run the reset check on the message board what does it say about the "charging system"? Maybe that will givfe you a clue.
