Another one gets a turbo
My nephew recently purchased a 93 F250 4X4 with a remaned 7.3, and he thaught he needed a turbo. I found a factory one on Ebay, and yesterday we installed it. The old girl fought us all the way. Had to massage the firewall to get the up-pipe and turbo to fit. We only had the smashed down pipe, so that went on. Best part of the whole thing, who ever rebuilt the engine used a one piece grommet-riser for the CDR valve. I have never seen one like it. Usually the riser is a steel tube that slides in the valley grommet. This one was a rubber tube with the grommet formed on the tube, so installing the turbo drain was just a matter of cutting the rubber tube off. I was wondering what we were going to use for the grommet for the drain. I tryed a glad hand seal, and thaught it might work, but it was a little small for the valley pan. I wonder if this rubber riser is available threw IH or Ford, as the turbo drain grommet is not available threw ATS any more.
