I guess I'll be the nay-sayer in here on the SS braided brake lines. I will never ever buy another set of those again. I went through 3 of those, each time a "quality" set and every single time they failed where the hose goes into the ferrule that is crimped onto the end. Twice happened off road, no big deal. The last time it happened on the road at about 60 mph when I tried to slow down for a buddies house. Press pedal, pop, hisssss, pedal goes to floor, butt cheeks clench most of seat into nether regions and I start thinking that all those bible thumpers might be onto something. Lucky for me it was a relatively straight road with light traffic and I managed to coast slow enough to get into a parking lot. This was on a lifted Jeep CJ rolling on 37" rubber. Not exactly something you want to try high speed acrobatics in. I replaced everything steel braided with OEM GM rubber lines of truck and model year not remembered and have not had a problem since.
I got the line fixed... managed to blow out two trailer tires abot 10 hrs after.. but after 4 new tires and a headache.. I made it safely to Cali. I start my Cali to Alaska trip at the end of the month.
Flex lines can be very deceiving, every thing looks great on the outside but they can collapse on the inside, burst with no warning, yada, yada, yada. I've had good luck over all with rubber replacements but have often wondered as to the durability of the stainless lines.
