I bought a 1993, F150, 351, 4x4, auto with over drive, 355 gears, 11.50 x 32 tires 2.5" dual exhaust, with 119,000 miles on it.It won,t go over 85-90 miles an hour it feels like it is backing off does this year truck have a rev limiter. Gas mileage is about 8-10 miles per gallon when babying it. Installed a new fuel filter about 400 miles ago. The guy I got the truck from never changed it, he tried to take it off with a set of pliers, I had aheck of time getting it off. Also Installed new plugs,wires, oxcygen sensor,fuel regulator, cap, rotor, and a K&N fuel injection system all the good tune up stuff, compression is good on all the cylinders and the cat converter has been removed. I aso disconected the battery for 30 minutes to re-set the computer.

Rev limiter

You are probably hitting the speed limiter. Did you recalibrate the speedo to match the new tires?

Yes, I did the calibration on Tuesday night,haven't had a chance to try the truck out. Does this do anything other than recalibrate speed OD, such as reset shift points.

You mean these trucks have a speed limiter? What is it set at, as I have never had a problem with going over that speed? Or is it maybe not on my truck?
