I have a 2004 6.0L diesel and it starts fine, and it idols great but while driving about 50mph it starts spitting, acting like its starving for fuel and I let go of the gas pedal and press back on the pedal and it stops for a little while and it will do it all over again. Ive had it plugged up to the machines and it doesnt give any codes so I changed out some injectors and its still doing the same thing.
easy way. look at the egr cooler. if its round its early, square is late.
unplug the icp sensor. you will get a check engine light but the truck will go into default mode. see if the concern is still there. if its gone replace the icp sensor and connector.
do not continue driving any longer then needed for testing.
If that isn't it and it is bucking and lurching check the wiring harness that goes to the ebp sensor back by the turbo and y-pipes, mine was melted inside the protective covering. When I said melted it was two wires melted to 1 and it threw no codes figure that one out.
