Just had to say it. Our neighbors dog that I officially adopted, got hit out on the road. The person who hit Bucky didn't even stop to tell us.
Our neighbor came down to pull him off the road. And another one came and got him to take to his original owners.
Rip Bucky. We loved you and will continue to miss you.

So sorry to hear that.
I started a dog picture thread, would love for you to share a picture of him if you have one.
ive been in your position.... i use to live in a neighborhood were when ever my cats would get out we would find em the next day run over on the road... lost 5 cats that way. certain areas here in AZ suck
i don't want to come across as too cruel, but i was raised that if you cared about a pet you kept it at home. of course i was raised in town, most of my unless and aunts were farmers and let the cats and dogs run loose and i didn't have a problem with that, since they lived on gravel roads most of the traffic was themselves or the neighbor. we also lived in a northern manitoba native community in the early 70's just about every town lost some child to an attack by starving stray abandoned sled dogs. 1 community passed a bylaw stating off owners property not leashed or with owner=dog gets shot

I live out in the country, he had strayed from another neighbor's house and came to ours. I had him for a month, and sadly they had not taught him that he couldn't chase cars. I think what had finally done him in is that the person thought the stop sign is optional. We have several people who blow the stop sign going anywhere from around 20 to 70 mph. Every day I pull out of my drive I even take a chance of someone hitting me. It is frustrating that the law enforcement could care less about this problem. And even more frustrating that the original owners allowed their dog to chase cars. If I would have been his original owner I would have corrected that problem, like I did with my dog.
Getcha a piece of plywood....Something like 2' x8'.....slap around a thousand nails in it.....and simply lay it in the road....Heck if theyre gonna wreck anyway....teachem a lesson...LOL
