i have a 97 f150 4.6 l auto transmission truck had issues first the brake lights wouldnt come on 2 nd the truck would start in park but couldnt be put in gear so i would start the truck in neutral then put it in gear it also recently had a code of p1409 checked for any air leaks in lines cleaned out the parts that deal with the code
i replaced switch by brake pedal checked fuse on end of master cylinder was good i then replaced a couple fuses in fuse box and now when i try to start the truck it doesnt click or try to start i took the fuses back out that i had replaced it doesnt help

 

ok back at it again changed out parts associated with p1409 code changed out all the fuses in all the locations under the hood and in the truck runs better but still not real well hasnt thrown out any check engine light as of yet but still running like its not firing right
