Hello, I have never written to a web site before.
I just purchased a 1956 f100, it is very rough. We have just
begun dis-assembling it. We have been searching this site
and have gotten many good ideas, we will need your help
alot during this process.
It is my 81 year old father, my 21 year old son, and myself,
I am 51, doing the work ourselves, all novices at best.
Will try to post PIX as we go along, God bless, happy 4th.
I can't think of a better way to bridge the generation gap than to have an old truck project to work on together. Keep us updated and feel free to ask questions. That's what we're here for. Best of luck with your project!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm new to all of this. My dad was cool enough to give me his panel. It needs a ton of work and I'm looking forward to learning about these old trucks.
An incredible website with tons of info and great stories has been read and shared by many of us on here. It is "Earl's World", authored by an FTE member of many years. It will be invaluable as you begin your family project, especially if you want to restore your truck to stock: http://www.clubfte.com/users/earl/index.html
For what it is worth, I tried to document everything I did to my 56, tho not nearly as well. If you like rodding yours a bit, my gallery may be helpful: Ford Truck Enthusiasts User Gallery
Take LOTS of pictures, pictures of absolutely everything down to the last bolt. This will make putting it back together a whole lot easier. Also, tag and bag every bolt and part, might seem obvious what it is and where it goes now, but if a couple months or even years pass before it goes back it's super easy to forget. Doing those little things as you go will save you a tremendous amount of headache down the line. Plus the pictures sever as a great reminder of how much work you've really done
Welcome to FTE 3Gen and F100Ug! It's absolutely the best site on the web for hangin' out with guys who love old Ford iron. Also a great place to access the knowledge, experience and opinions of other members.
3Gen - I also have the pleasure of enjoying our build with my 31 yr old son and my 13 yr old grandson. Can't think of a better way to share time together! Enjoy making memories!
Welcome both 3Gen and F100 Ugly to 48-60 FTE Forum
Glad to have you. 3Gen if I can suggest it you might consider putting your state for location. That way a Guy or Gal will know if they can help with soemthing with referring you to a supplier or something. Thanks and again glad to have you
Welcome from California!! I'm with Stephen67....take pictures of everything. I'm 51 too & it's getting hard to remember where every bolt is supposed to go!!
