My dad just bought a 07 F250 with a 5.4. He had a CEL showing cam sensors. Replaced those. Engine still seems like it runs out of oil when it has a load. Reminds me of when the radiator froze on my mustang. Truck has 188k on the ticker. It doesn't do it all the time. I drove it about 5 miles and it didn't do it till I held the brake and gave it some gas. You rev it up a little and it goes away. I don't think it's coil packs. They don't make a noise when they go out.
