whats up.. i have a 94 f150.. originally a 5.0 but i did the 351 swap.. it has a trick flow stage one cam and ported gt40 heads.. it also a mass air truck... i had the truck tuuned with a chip to help the fuel problem but it seems to be running rich again.. not sure if its the fpr.. thinking about getting an adjustable fpr.. would like to kno what u guys think... also does anyone know a valve cover i could use that clears 1.6 rockers but also clears the intake.. had to cut the baffles out my stock ones
How exactly do I test the fuel pressure.. No codes... They don't make an intake space for stock 351 intakes .. They only make them for gt40s... I'll post some pics 2morro
To answer your previous question about checking fuel pressure; you use a fuel pressure gauge mounted on the fuel rail. They can be rented or purchased.
Another very common issue with this vintage truck is a leaking Fuel Pressure Regulator. Pull off the vacuum hose, visually check for signs of fuel. A quick sniff is also suggested. If there are signs of fuel that means the FPR diaphragm has a hole in it which in turn allows fuel to be sucked into the intake via that vacuum hose.
Another common problem is the connection between that chip and the J3 port. Check for codes, that may be telling you something. Regardless if there are codes or not remove the chip clean the connections on the chip and the J3 port.
