Get this boost sensor A circuit low code, and the truck goes into limp mode and you cant drive it cause you cant give it gas, im new to diesels only had it for about a month and dont understand what is going on so if someone could help id really be appreciative, my truck is a 05 f-250 4x4 crew cab short bed 6.0 Thanks Andy
Fixed the p0237 code now after i fixed that drove it 1/2 mile and it went back to limp mode and is now throwing a p2285 injector control pressure sensor code anyone give me a little help
P0237--MAP circuit short to ground or open/defective sensor. Sounds like you need to replace your MAP sensor to me. Takes about 5 or 10 minutes--simple stuff for anyone.
Another sensor circuit low code, which would probably indicate a VREF problem.
But, before we get into that, inspect the ICP wiring harness and plug. Look for oil. Sometimes the ICP sensor leaks oil into the plug and wiring and shorts it out.
Like I said, check the wires to the ICP sensor and check the plug for oil. The ICP sensor is on the passenger side valve cover and has 3 wires connected to it.
yah ten four. did that took plug out cleaned it up with some brake clean and put back in still have same issue,,, i got a buddy that has an 06 that may come by tomorrow and let me take the ICP out of his truck and plug it in and see if it fixes the problem
That would work. You can also just unplug the ICP sensor. It will throw a bunch of codes, but the computer will recognize that the ICP sensor isn't there and assume a pressure. If the truck starts and idles smoothly with the ICP sensor unplugged, then you can pretty much assume that the sensor is the problem and needs replaced.
i unplugged it and tried to crank it up went straight into limp mode,,, and the only code it threw was the same code nothing more, but when i clear the codes with it plugged in, i can get it to run for about 30 seconds freaking out before it goes into limp mode
But did it run OK when it was unplugged? And what specifically do you mean by limp mode? Check engine light? Wrench light? or something else. "Limp mode" isn't very well defined.
wrench light which an ase mechanic told me was limp mode, when i had it unplugged i cleared the code and fired it up and it went straight into limp mode before evening flipping the check engine light on, with the icp plugged in and clearing the codes it would run for about 30 seconds real bad before it threw the check engine light and going into limp mode
