Happy 4th everyone! have a problem with right rear brake light and right turn light not working. Right front turn light works and all Left side lights work fine. I checked wireing for current from rear and up to inside found no volts for right side brake light. When I turn on right turn I can here flasher working. And again right front works fine. Hope you can help me with this, its driving me nuts.
If you have no voltage to the right rear, it is in the wiring, based on the info given. There is a plug underneath the bed by your rear bumper. Pull it and check for voltage to the passenger rear light. There is another connector located below the Master Cylinder. Let us know weather the voltage is or isnt in these connections.
EDIT: I just realized this was the 67-72 forum. Dis-reguard the connector locations
Anderson, The brake & turn signal share the same bulb filament and wire. With the right signal flashing unplug the connector at the rear of the drivers side frame rail and move forward.
My guess is there is a break in the wire somewhere. Sorry, but it will be a hands on dig it out. They can be big hemorrhoids sometimes.
I had a broken wire along the frame rail (driver side) tear the tranny cross member. I'm still working on the truck and have not checked it but I did have the rear left tail light out before I found and fixed the broken wire.
Don't think this will help you but in trying to get all the tail lights working on my '72 I ended up rebuilding the entire tail light harness from the connector on the frame near the end of the bed to the tail lights. The wires coming out of the connector towards the tails were all bare corroded and mostly broken.
might help, but i just picked up a 70 f100 and non of the tail lights works, running, stop or turn. I found in the column the PO hacked the harness and broke the turn signal assembly, I soldered everything up there and rigged the turn signal assembly to at least let the brake light work. But you could have lost a connection up there too and since the rear turn signal cuts off the brake light it might be related?
