75 G-Machine
I am wanting opinions on doing a G-Machine out of a 75 F-100 that I have. I posted in the drag trucks section, but I think the G-machine would be a better driver and more enjoyable.
I am wanting to graft on a (gulp)67-72 chevy front and rear suspension, aka NASCAR,with upgraded suspension components from Hotckis.
What do you guys think? All opinions are takin.
This is what I'm shootin for.
Classic Lines With Pro Touring Prowess | Street Trucks
Thanks,
Mike

To the OP, I suggest you either start with a Chevy or simply replicate a NASCAR chassis.. it'll need to be low and wear really wide and sticky rubber.
The biggest enemy will be weight and weight distribution. Some ways to do that include moving engine back, moving the front wheels forward, swiss-cheesing the frame, and shedding as much weight as you can. You'll also need a close ratio transmission, fat anti-roll bars, big brakes, and a limited slip if you want to be competitive in road racing or autocrossing... Ya'd better be starting with a shortbed.
The term "G-Machine" or Pro touring is just for reference I used to descibe the direction of the the build I wanting to do.
Any way thanks for the feedback.
Hi0 Silver, starting with a chevy and replicatin a NASCAR chassis is out of the ? I looking to build it that way,but with more streetability. It will replicate a NASCAR style, but not with so much technology.
Basically a stock Ford frame with the front and rear clipped with the suspensions and the upgrades accordingly.
The Ford in the link I provided did not have all of that, just more civilized to drive.
I just want to go a little further and do something a little different than the norm or building a Chevy, everyone has played out the Chevys and I am a Ford guy.
As far as I know,no one has done this before.
Thats the reason for wanting an opinion, wether good or bad. I wish I had a pic of what I am trying to build there might be a better understanding.
Thanks,
Mike
