thats how i got it. not sure what the hell they were thinking with those giant ugly bumpers but they were waaaaaaaay to jacked up to do anygood. Also had about a mile (or it seemed like it at the time) of underglows and rope lights strung through out it. 1.6l 4banger 5 speed welded rear fun to take to smorr and show up my boss's yj on 35s
after welding the rear end and doing a soa lift on it ran out of paint so its only half done couldn't a pic after i cut the lips for the flares off
91 jeep grand wagoneer
poser shot for giggles
how i got it think this is after i mini spooled it and before i taught it how to lay on its side either 4 or 6 lift would clear 35's for the most part fulltime 4x4 amc 360 amc bolt pattern 727 that i fragged the first time out at chadwick.
sit...rollover...now play dead
92ish cherokee
first time i had ever been to smorr and shortly after this picture was taken i stood it up on its front end 4.0l i6 31's open diff 4" long arm
end of the same day at smorr got it with the 4" long arm kit
couldn't find any pics of it or my 85 (no lift on 35" boggers needless to say it didn't have any real wheel wells on it lol) but i did find a old video from trying to trouble shoot a back fire on it that you can kind of see the 73 in. Didn't look like much but that 73 was a beast. The 85 was more or less the same with a reman 350 sm465 and i forget the tcase the 73 was built 350 th 350 and np 205
also missing is my first real wheeler 80 cj-7 on 33's rusted turd but i loved that thing and had some strange fascination with trying to turn it into a submarine in ponds creeks and even just what looked like regular mud holes. upgraded the 2 piece axles i kept spinning to supperior 1 piece shafts and wheeled the crap out of it. That one was a 258 i6 manual 3 speed (forget the name) dana 300
them are some niiiiiiiiiice fords in there. even like the chevys. The truck i have now is my first ford 4x4 (that wasn't my dads) and i looooove just realized i left out pics of it. I really like that yellow one with the flames if i wasn't going to tear up the paint on mine like i know i am going to wheeling i would want something like that for it.
1977 f150 4x4 302 not sure on the trans and i think 208 on the tcase open on 31's
first time wheeling it and first time getting it stuck you can't tell but there is some where in the neighborhood of about a foot of air under each one of the tires
i feel the same way about that wagoneer. As far as capable rigs go when i first got them that was the best of them. And aside from the surface rust on the front clip it was completely rust free. Got it for free from a guy that thought he busted the cam in it turned out a few of the wires on the dizzy were flipped around and the box was on its way out. Had brand spanking new lift springs all the way around rebuilt front and rear 44s and when i did the rear main seal on it turned out someone had already been into the bottom end of the engine at least because everything was marked and it had fairly new bearings in it. Even the interior and carpet were in great shape till the first time i wheeled it anyways lol
Here's part of my Heep:
That pic's about 6 years old. That's my then 3yo son in front of it. I'll add more later.
Here's my first real truck, that I bought:
1978 Dodge D150 318 NP435 open rear. Turd, but still runs. Not mine anymore, but it's at a buddies farm.
And the truck in my avatar.
Well I can't find the pic of the 67 Cyclone GT 500 that I got from grandpaw for $400 when I was 14, sold it at 15 (yes stupid). But then found the 66 F100 w/t-bird 429 for $500 when I was 15 (grey ghost).
Then the 73 2wd 240 6 cyl 3 on the tree at 16, blew the 240 up quick and the a 300 6 went in, I pretty much toasted it and then I joined the Army. I think my dad gave it away to the guy that was suppose to replace the eng.
Then my 79 F250 351m 4 spd, and the fun I had along with it and its demise coming home from the bar one night, the roads were slick I swear! Wrecker flipped it back over, I put 2 qts of oil in and drove it on home. Sold it and went to Germany for 3 yrs.
Red 92 F150 302 5 spd, Colorado almost killed that truck, sold it and went to Korea 1st time. Traded it in on a 95? Dakota V-6 gutless, but I drove the hell outa it. My dad had it for a year and 1/2 while I was in Korea 2nd tour.
Traded it for a 98 red Dodge ram 1500 ext cab, sport model (can't find a pic). Then after a while traded for a 2000 red Dodge ram off road package and yanked a horse trailer with for a while. Till I traded for the 99 Dodge 2500 4x4 diesel I have now.
You can ck out my garage for the Ford line up I have now, that a long story in itself....
Yea I ran it in the 2wd class mud bog north of Branson years ago, I won 2nd place. Even got a trophy and drove it home afterwards.
Your rig on its side looked like mine except it was the passenger side and in a residential area. Corner post of a split fence and a curb and alot of speed sideways caused the roll.
mine happened on valentines day after shopping for the woman in springfield lol. (best way to get out of ever having to shop again lol) I switched the tcase off (full time 4x4 but you could kick off power to the front end) because the highway was clear (and i was trying to save gas in gas hog) was getting on james river at campbell turned my head to see what my son was playing with and hit a slick spot front end slipped into a huge pile from a plow and it sucked me. Spun it around on the side of that hill and when it stopped it had just enough lift and enough momentum to flop it on its side. Didn't even hit hard enough to knock out the windows. If you look at the pic that is a van down further against the fence and it didn't fair nearly as well
