train derailment in ky
just heard on last nights news there was a big derailment and the principal cargo was new trucks from ky ford plant, could be a big delay in delivery for someone.

I work for the rr and one crew ran into the other and and put four auto racks on their side, all full of f series trucks. Its not as uncommon as you think to see autos being dammaged by the railroad. Weather its the one I work for or another it seems there is always some kind of damage going on.

These are not Super Duty's for sure. Might of just been from somethwere else and just just got added to the line of vehicles. There are more pictures on the site.

There's a note in the MSNBC story references the following:
"Officials said those train cars were hauling vehicles from Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant, just beginning their trip south to Tampa."
So there's some SD's somewhere on that line, who knows whether or not they sustained any damage...

Each autorack in that train has a sensor on it and even if the railcar did not derail if the sensors are tripped they may still have alot of autos that will see the crusher or go to training facilities, such as high schools and tech schools. They cut the vins out so the never see the road.
