Scanguage II

As a follow up to a previous post of mine, I had the wrench light come on and when I turned the truck off and back on again the light went away and has never come back on. Some folks on here suggested that it may be a plugged oil cooler. I took the advice of some folks on my previous post and bought a Scanguage II tool. I just got it yesterday and installed it this morning.

How do I get it to read the ECT and EOT? I see there is a WT built in. Is this the same as ECT? I am looking for no more than a 10 deg differential in these two parameters correct?

Thanks for the help. By the way, I am excited about the Scangauge, it looks like it will be very helpful!

I urge you to read this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...injectors.html

It has a list of PID's (codes) for programming the X gauges. EOT is one you'll have to program. Coolant temp is fWT or cWT depending if you're reading in farenheit or celsius. The temp spread is 15*--take it with a grain of salt and use some common sense. You can have a larger spread if you've been pushing it hard and then back off. The coolant will cool much quicker than the oil. If you had a wrench light it stored a code of some sort that the SG2 may or may not read.

Gonna steal this thread for a moment.............I have an eroneous reading on my Scangauge when BST or boost reading is selected and I put my foot into it. The Scangauge will read a - number until I back off a bit then it will read properly. Anyone have the same issue, or did I program incorrectly or perhaps there are alternative codes to use?

Chichi the thread partsman mentioned above. It's kinda long but good info to know. There is an issue with boost relative to MAP/MAF and a couple of ways to work around. I haven't worried with it because factory boost gauge is suppose to be fairly accurate.

The Scanguage did not see any codes when I plugged it in today. Thanks for the help on this. I will try it out tonight!

So I added the EOT to the Scangauge and took her for a drive when I got home from work. Once warmed up it looked like I was running about 217 EOT and 197 or so on the ECT. I would imagine this indicates I have a cooler issue correct? I am going to let the truck sit overnight and see if they stabilize together in the morning to ensure my sensors are correct, but I would imagine I will be replacing the oil cooler soon. Should I try to avoid driving the truck in the mean time? I don't tow anything or drive it hard. Just 20 miles to work.

Thanks!

The delta (spread) from all I've read here has a lot of interpretations. I'd run it a few more times on the level at hwy speeds to see if that changes.

I agree with rattleNsmoke- wouldn't park it just yet- reason being your temps are low (not overheating). Delta is 20 and that ain't good but EOT of 217 is ok. I just pulled my 10k fifth wheel a couple of hours in upper 90's outside temps and saw 230 EOT a couple of times. I ain't freaking.....really...much.
