Hello everyone.

My former employer called me Saturday inquiring about my interest in going back to Afghanistan, this time under a 2-year contract.

I said that yes I'd sign on.

He said I should expect another call today to explore this further, else I'm to call him back tonight.

He said that the company can't find any qualified mechanics and that the group they hire will attend a factory school on the aircraft before going to Afghanistan.

He said that I was in a stack of resumes that HR gave him and that he was unaware that I had been over to Afghanistan for his company last year. I mentioned that I had completed all the military's deployment certs (no waivers to go over and then come back to finish the stuff later) less than a year ago and so I might be able to promptly deploy again.

Now I wait to see if there is any dirt in those HR files about me and if it makes a difference to him.

Tomorrow I have two more phone interviews for other employers.

One is the Iraq embassy job, which I was advised by email today might be on hold.

The other is for maintaining a UAV helicopter.

i dont know yet. she hasnt figured that part out. all she needs to do saturday is get to a hotel just off base, so she is there trouble free for sunday check in. she probably wont leave any sooner than noon, probably later though. 6-7hours says mapquest, she will probably do it in 5.
